headlight relay

I haven't looked yet, but does anyone know where the headlight relay is. I've only checked under the hood and didn't see it there or didn't reconized it.

Thanks

There is not a headlight relay.

More info on your car (like year, model) usually helps when asking for assistance. There are several different lighting diagrams depending on such.

Maybe you could describe the problem you are having.

1995

1995 Z28. I'm looking today. I'm looking at a haynes book and I'm going to find my problem today. I can cut the light switch on, and the lights will not come on. My fog lights come on with my park lights, but my head lights won't work. I think it is in the switch, but I'm not sure. I'm getting power to my instrument panel in the dash also (lights). No high beam indication of course.

bad ground

Well, I took the headlight switch out and found a problem. My switch's wiring harness where it plugs into the switch was melted. It was the red wire where it plugs into the "J" section on the switch had gotten very hot and melted.

Then I took a paper clip and jumped power on the harness from the red wire "J" section to the yellow wire "E" and the paper clip got very hot very fast. That told me that somewhere on that yellow wire that it is touching a ground. If someone knows an infamous place that it could be, I'd appreciate it if they could share info.

Eveywhere else on that switch was working fine......fog lights, park light, instrument lights. The only problem was in the headlights which is the yellow wire.

Thanks

Try a fatter wire [than the paper clip] a paper clip probably isn't 'heavy' enough for a headlight load... [that's why it got hot..]
If the hot wire was grounded, it would burn the fusible link..
