Re: heads/BRE cam not right??

I guess I could consider erratic cruising at 2500-3000 a possible surge.

I was just more focused on why the car isn't pulling as hard as it should, because cam surge, which can mostly be fixed by tuning, has no affect on the way the car runs at WOT.

There were other things at play (ie injectors) making this car not run up to par. Everyone was focused on surging and how good the tuner is, which was a misdirection. That's all I was trying to get across.

I'm not trying to argue, cuz I won't post in this thread anymore unless useful information is provided about the issue at hand, but I recall several threads, pages and pages long, where you bickered with another (certain) individual.

Hello pot, meet kettle.

Go figure 'eh?

I have a tiny bit of surge in the lower 2000 rpm range, but like LR said, I just drive around it Might be able to get rid of some of it if I send the logs back to Bryan to take a look at it.

The bolded part I highlighted shows your disbelief that the tuner often has to rework the tunes.

You're still not quoting me correctly. I stated that I doubt he's reworked many of the 3 mentioned tuner's work... and if he had I doubt he's improved, based on some of the stuff I've read so far in this post. Anyways, bottom line is you misquoted me, or misunderstood me possibly.

My stance is not that a mail order tune cannot be improved upon... I didn't just start doing this stuff yesterday, and after all I've seen and done I think I'd know better.

So your doubting this particular guy's tuning versus the work of the three named tuners?? Is that right? Not trying to argue here, but you should easily be able to see how people can interpet it the way i did.

I'll defend him, since he may not even be paying any attention to this post. He has reworked the tunes, and got improvements. Hell, I could rework one of their tunes and get an improvement (not taking anything away from mad scientist). Bottom line, mail order tunes only get you close. It's up to you or your tuner to dial them in.

Point out one thing you've read that leads you to believe that he is not a competent tuner.
