heads/cam combo?
alright, being a highschool student, im kind of tight on a budget. I am going to be building a 355 here very soon and am stuck on what heads and cam to use
would these heads
http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_..._lt1_rpm.shtml
be good? and what cam should i use?
my goals for the car are 12 flat while being a DD. I know those heads will put me into high compression. I have been looking a lot into the cc306 cam, and a lunati cam(even bigger than the cc306).

Re: heads/cam combo?
Budget low 12's would be full bolt on's with a camshaft similar to the CC306. I wouldnt waste money on heads just lose some weight out of the car and get the transmission and gears matched to your cam. I wouldnt go much bigger than the CC306. Why are you building a 355? Unless you blew up your stock bottom end, I'd spend the money elsewhere.
PS Edelbrock Heads are crap in my opinion, you'd be better of sending your stock ones to LLoyd Elliot and getting LE1 port work done.

Re: heads/cam combo?
I already have suspension covered, so that is not an issue. Reason I am building a 355 is my motor is old and tired and losing the battle for power, so I have no choice but to rebuild. I know I can hit 12s with the stock block and bolt ons w/ cam, but I'd rather have the capability to go faster than 12s too, this the 255. What is the website for lloyd elliots stuff?

Since you've got a 355, you could go LE3. That or LE2 would do you nicely.

Re: heads/cam combo?
I have not heard of good reviews of the Edelbrock heads... I second Lloyd Elliot at www.eportworks.com, he can get you a good head/cam combo that will satisfy your goals for a very good price.
