Heads to come off..should I keep these LE2 heads with the LPE 211/219 cam?
I need to pull the heads to have the valve guides reworked but I'm wondering if these heads have too much flow for the cam.
The cam I have is the LPE 211/219 .534/5.62 lift w/1.6 and 112 LSA.
The heads are LE2 heads with the bigger valves which flowed:
37/32 at .050 lift
64/55 at .100
95/74 at .150
129/92 at .200
163/116 at .250
193/131 at .300
214/145 at .350
235/158 at .400
255/170 at .450
267/179 at .500
274/185.6 at .550
272/191 at .600
I feel there's a lot more left in this combo and the heads seem to me to be the cause of what I feel are low numbers for this combo on my '95 TA. The tune is about spot on as I use a wibeband and do my own tuning. Runs a 13.4x at 101mph with DRs and no wheel slip and dyno'd at 294rwhp and 310rwtq. This is an A4 vert so the qtr times will be lower than expected but the hp seems to be rather low for this combo compared to what I've seen others post with this cam or similar Crane 227 cam.
I've got a pair of stock LT1 heads if I deceided to do something different, just wondering if these heads flow a little too much for the cam and causing it to loose some air velocity in the runners.

that cam with LPE CNC 2.00 1.56 made a very powerful combo i cannot see why you would not see the same power or close. i did a combo for my neighbor many years ago like this
211/219
LPE cnc heads
ported intake
52mm
30lb inj
SLP headers
SLP 2600 stall
LPE custom chip (1993)
factory cat and Slp muffler
i do not know the rwhp but the car did run 12.6 @109 at sea level (1993)

Thanks for the replies so far. I think the 3.23 gears have alot to do with the 1/4 times at least some but wouldn't think it would hurt the dyno#s that much. Its the same dyno / shop I always use so I know its not a difference in dynos as I always make sure all the same correction factors are used and this is the only car its low on. Tranny has been rebuilt twice in 2 years so thats all good. AF is 12.8-13.1 in WOT. Spark is good, its not breaking up all the way up to 6k. I've toyed with the spark advance all over from 28-35 degrees at WOT at the track one night and that wasn't the smoking gun. Car runs great, no obvisous problems.
These heads worked great for a 383 with a much bigger cam, so I may shelf them for future use and get something more for this cam as I love the street manners for a daily driver.
Keep them coming

That's good to know, I was wondering what the flow was on their heads, if thats the case then I would be at a complete loss as to what the cause of the low hp#s and times would be. I don't think the slightly worn valve guides would be the cause, there's essentially no slop in them when they are cold, only when up to op temp I get some play in them, so they will be coming off.

I originally had a GTP6 cam which also was a low performer with these heads, 349rwhp with stock bottom end spinning it to 6500, 1/4 times were even slower than with the LPE cam now...but yeah, I've thought about driving it off a cliff a few times
I have no reason to believe they don't flow this as I bought them from an aquintance and a reputable person that is very knowledgable and freq this board, and he is not a vendor of any kind of parts, I saw what his 383 did at our friends shop with these heads and GTP6 cam, 440+ rwhp. But at the moment, the heads are the only thing that are common with the GTP6 cam it did have and the current LPE cam, which same person made 364rwhp with the 211 cam paying very close attention to every detail and spending countless hours on the dyno tuning. I'm not expecting to go to the moon, but was expecting a good 12.xx sec slip and 330 or so rwhp.
Since I already have a set of stock heads, I may have them worked just to give it a try...if nothing changes then I'll have a set of good worked heads to sell.

do you have any more info on the set up?
You should list it all out......you have a problem somewhere, a serious one. Might be an easy fix. You just need to look into it. I don't see why that cam with those heads if the numbers are right shouldn't make 360 at least.......

You can see the dyno numbers in my sig for stock heads and cast iron exhaust manifolds. I've not been back on the dyno yet but I'm hopeful to see 360 rwhp with heads and SLP shortys. My Crane 104227 is very close to your cam.
And maybe even 361 rwhp with corrected rocker arm geometry. LOL
