Re: heads and intake ?

Definitely port and polish your heads. And while you're in there think about getting your valves ground and bigger rocker studs put in! I have a similar set up...you can see in my sig!!
Good luck!

Re: heads and intake ?

see sig for hp. I can't recall the exact flow numbers for the heads. They were not too radical. The valves are stock...I just got a 3-way grind job done on them and had bronze valve guides installed too.

Re: heads and intake ?

As a guy who deals with this at least once in awhile ... You really need to have some sort of goal and budget in mind, so that a head guy can figure out what would fit best for you. It sounds like you would be satisfied with pretty basic machinework & porting. You may not need the spring seats machined to accept a larger aftermarket locator, but while the heads are apart I would recommend it, as well as cutting down the guides to accept a more standard sized seal. Hard to say exactly what would work best however without some sort of budget in mind

Re: heads and intake ?

Yeah, I like the way the car feels!! It was a totally different beast after I did the cam and heads!! I actually got a speeding ticket 10 minutes after getting the running right!! The car was just so different. As for what stage the heads are, I really don't know. I do recall that the flow numbers aren't as high as some guys on here, but then again lots of flow isn't always a good thing...it depends on your valves and what your power goals are. At 362 rwhp, I'm pretty happy....surprised a lot other F-bodies and Stangs!! ; )

Re: heads and intake ?

i see i see... well AI, as far as budget thats hard to say, im only 24, have a house basically already paid for, so pretty much what i do put in savings and towards bills go to the car and for the most part... ive got an ok budget to deal with.... what i basically want, is if there is a car beside me acting like hot sh*t, i wanna stomp it once, and them just be like HOLYF**K....i was actually thinking about stage 2 or stage 3porting, but if i do that im not sure what all i need to change, is it true that i need to change my TB pretty soon?

Re: heads and intake ?

Your TB should be good to 400rwhp. I talked to Ed Wright and told me to leave the TB and MAF alone...all stock UNLESS I go huge hp. You should be fine!
