Help!!!! A4 Is Now A2

i won't state when this started in detail (just an hour ago) because its lengthy and irrelavant...

this is what its doing....

it won't shift up out of 2nd...

in drive it wants to rev high into 2nd and then skip back down to first...

in "3" it will only go into first

it shifts perfectly, by itself from 1st to 2nd at like a stop light... but then when it gets to like 2500rpm it wants to go back down to first (this is at all throttle positions)

the only way to keep it in second is to manually put it in "2"...

what do i do? and what is wrong???

thank you so much for your help, in advance...

It looks like your 3-4 clutches are slipping and your 2-4 band is shutting off. This means your valves in the valve body are moving, shutting off the band for the 2-3 upshift but your 3-4 clutches are not holding. Your 3-4 clutches are probably burnt, with the 3-4 clutches not holding and the band off, you get 1st, or a 1 - 2 - 1 shift. Check your fluid, if its dark then you need a rebuild.

ok, i don't really want to rebuild... because of reliability/warrantee issues... would just buying a whole new 700r4 from gm be a good idea?
