Help, Bad Opti or Ignition?

My car has 106k on the clock and I do not belive the previous owner ever replaced the Opti. Recently the car will only run smooth if just cruising, but if I try and give her hell, it misses and sputters badly. Initially I thought the Opti was going out. On Saturday it was bout 40 degrees outside and the car would just crank and never fired over, like it is not getting spark. Sunday it was warmer out and it started right up. This morning it was cold again and guess what, it would just crank without firing. This almost leads me to believe that it is ignition since Optis usually tend to go bad and that is it.
Any opinion would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ryan

Re: Help, Bad Opti or Ignition?

A weak spark will have a harder time starting the car when it is cold. Don't rule out the coil/coil wire.
