Angry Help: Broken exhuast manifold bolts

Has anybody had this problem ? Broken exhuast manifold bolts ? One on each head. I am hoping to drill and ez-out and or retap the holes with out removing heads. motor is out of the car to fix oil leaks and new headers and new clutch for starters lol

Should not be a problem to fix with the motor out of the car and heads on; You have the right idea and you might not have to retap the holes.

I had to deal with the same issue when I was putting the "new" engine in my car. Used an ez-out and it was pretty much an easy job. never had to retap the holes or anything.

That is in a bad spot ....... if the bits you have will not drill it, you may have to get a better bit. I don't see another way of getting it out other than drilling it and using an easy out at this point. I would also douse it with PB Blaster so when you do get it drill it will come right out.

If you have access to a welder, and enough of the stud is sticking out, you can put a nut on the stud and weld the stud to the inside of the nut. Then just remove the stud with a wrench.

I seen the pics, it is broke off into the head.

OP you may have to buy a hardened bit, carbide or the lieks to get that out.
