Broken bolt update I have been drilling away each day after work and last night I was almost thru when a drill bit broke off in the hole. The one thing I didn't want to happen and could not get out so still no good new to report. not sure how i am going to get the drill out. Try again today after work

 

I was reading through and i have the same prob but my engine is in the car. LT1 97 Z28 no Mods. I am wanting to know what would be the thing for me to do. Oh driver side two bolts broken, when should I or If i should replace manifold

 

Is it leaking if not dont mess with it until if does leak.
not sure if you will be able to get to it with motor in the car i no i could not. The manifold should be ok i would think

 

What would it be leaking fumes that i can smell or smoke that is visable. And how would i replace the bolts or just wait til its time to change manifold. I have one good bolt that is holding up exhaust pipe Driver side

 

It would be exhuast gas leaking. Plus you should hear it leaking.
You only have 1 of the 8 bolts holding on your drivers side exhuast manifold?

 

Omg I finally am ready for the headers to be install and the rest tomoroow when the percy's header gaskets and stage 8 fastenrs and prothane motor mounts are delivered. But to get to this point was not easy alot of drilling and grinding with three different carbid tips, air compressor and shopvac, oh and mini picks and mini neddle nose philers grounded down to fit in the hole to grab broken bit's. Yes i broke two drill bit off But that one only took about 30 min to get out. lol then after another hour or so it I retap it and test fitted and it work finally finshed
