Help...car wants to idle at 2k rpms
I've got a 96 WS6 TA M6 with the only engine mods being the lt4 hot cam kit (installed about 30k miles ago). For some reason everytime I push the clutch in the rpms jump to 2000 and then stay there until I'm completely stopped, then they go back down to around 1100. What kind of problem do I have on my hands here? Is this MAF or TPS or something else entirely? Someone point me in the right direction.

Did you get the car reprogrammed? Maybe that's just the cam bumping up power...*shrug*
However...the PCM is programmed to have a 'running idle' in my car it is about 1500RPM while moving, 800RPM when stopped. This is to ensure adequate power to the power steering and braking systems.

Most likely you have to get your car reprogramed. When my buddy got his Hot Cam installed, he had idle and driving problems because it was not programed. Definitly get it reprogramed and see if the problem goes away. Most likely it will. Either take it to a local shop and have them do it, or I would suggest www.PCMforless.com I hear he does great work.
