Help! How to take off wiper blades?
I am in the process of replacing a fender on my 93z and have to take off the wiper blades in order to take off the cowl grilles in order to access the fender bolts, etc. (according to the Haynes manual). I flipped open the plastic lids (both of which cracked... f*ck!) and removed the bolts that hold on the arms. But here I get lost because the arms do not want be lifted, screwed, or pryed off. How do I take them off? Anyone done this before? Thanks for your help-

It does work, and works well. You just need to make sure you buy one of the small, cheap $3 ones so that it clears the hood. Better than prying at it and risking cracking the windshield.

I wish you could do it by hand! I used a small two-jawed puller, probably similar to the battery terminal puller you guys are talking about. My arms were on so tight we had to use a hose clamp around the puller to keep the jaws from slipping off. Major PITA. Just wait until you need to replace your wiper motor. By the way, does anyone know if you can get those rubber bushings for the motor assembly separately, or do you have to buy the whole thing? Mine is makeing a knocking noise again.

Another question: Once I finally get these wiper arms off, how do I get them back on? The Chevy parts department told me that you just press it back on and then tighten the bolt. Does this make sense to those of you who have done this before? The only reason I am taking off the wiper arms is to replace the fender. Is there any easier way to do this? Thanks again,
