HELP! I was driving just now...and all of a sudden...
Hey guys,
i was just driving back from the P.O and i hear a clicking noie coming from somewhere in the rear. Now after it progressed the whole way home, i told a friend to drive it up and down to try to listen to where the problem is coming from. I noticed the the right rear wheel/tire is wobbling all over the place. i had just put on these new set of rims on sat night, so i know the lugs werent loose.
So i get home and i jack up the car and try to yank the wheel off, but now the bitc* wont come off. its stuck onto something.
does Anyone have any idea to why it was wobblings in the first place and why the wheel is stuck now?
i just had SFC and LCA's and relocation brackets welded on, done at my shop the few days before i installed the wheels...

What wheels did you put on? I bet you never got it on right in the first place. You probably have interference with the axle hub to the inside center of the wheel. Especially common if you put late model f-body wheels on it.

Yea thats what i put on, the 2001 SS 10 spoke wheels on my 94 camaro.
Is there anything i can do to make it stop interferring? Also..i just drove the car from my house to school last night ( 2.5 hr drive) and everything was PERFECT. So i have no idea how this happened all of a sudden. I dont drive the car hard either.

Best bet is just to take the wheel back off and try again...you aren't having that problem from the left side (assuming this is the problem) because you just lucked up and got it centered "correctly". Just unbolt it, take it off, and stick it back on, being sure to try and hold it true center while tightening the lug nuts (a little at a time) in a criss-cross pattern.
Believe the reason for this is the older (correction) wheels having larger centers because of a little larger hubs? Correct me please if I am wrong - that way I can learn too ...

Do NOT even "try" to pull the wheels on the hubs with the lug nuts.... that's how you screwed up already. I suspect the other side is not on fully, just a little straighter.
The rear hubs on the early F-Bodys were 0.03" larger than the front hubs. The only way to correctly fix the problem when you put later model wheels on an earlier model is to take some sandpaper, or a Dremel and very slightly enlarge the opening in the rear of the wheel. The wheel is centered on the hub by the conical lugs, not by the hub, so you will not hurt anything if you don't get carried away. I believe even SLP recommends that you "sand" the late model take-off wheels if you try and put them on an early model.

Well it just so happens that the right rear wheel did just us some trouble while putting it on. it was the last wheel we did on sat night and every other wheel took no time. That one just was a PITA and we had to keep backing it up and putting it back on. So thats why im thinking the hub might be the problem?

Same here with '02 Z28 wheels. I had never heard of this, and i and Gold Z were wondering what the heck was going on? Why would GM do this? Then we realized we were talking about GM and logic doesn't apply.

Yea, im just kinda suprised that i drove all the way down to school (164miles at mostly 75-80mph) and nothing happened. Then all of a sudden going 20mph , it started to happen. Thank god i guess

If I were you I wouldn't drive it at all till you modify the rims to make them fit right. If it's off enough to make the wheel wobble, it sounds like there is alot of stress on the lugs/studs, and who knows what could happen. Not trying to flame you or anything, just my humble opinion.
BTW I too had the fitment prob. and had to get creative with the dremel.
