Unhappy Help Needed

okay so i ran into a new one today and just seeing if anyone had any ideas i got my car out for the first time in probably two months and was gonna take it to the car wash for a quick clean up before taking the women on a date i pulled in the car wash and realized i was low on fuel so i decided to go the gas station first as i started to leave the car layed down and died. so i just thought i would go get some gas and continue on. i put ten gallons in it and the car still wont fire i am not sure it was completly out of gas as the gauge still read about an eighth of a tank but i know the car is a little on the dated side now i checked and fuel pump still running and no fuses blown and i even changed the coolant temp sensor but mostly just because it was bad anyways. thanks for any feedback in advance

Re: Help Needed

Have you checked the fuel pressure? Have you scanned it for codes?

When my fuel gauge is on 1/4, there is about 1 to 1.5 gallons left. It's been that way since I bought it new in 1994. It's such a universal problem with these cars, Shoebox has a good online article on the gauge's quirks.

I never let it get that low.

Re: Help Needed

As far as I know, there is no worse car to completey run out of fuel then the LT1. You should go buy a fuel pressure gauge and for about $25 you can use it over and over again. Get one with the long hose so you can use it hooked up while driving, if need be.
