I just did this swap for someone last year. I have some pics of during the process, but dont think I got any after it was done. you will lose your wipers too you know? once you pull the engine out, you'll have plenty of room to cut the section out. I actually pulled the eng/kmember out the bottom, installed the new engine, carb/distributer and all, and lowered the car down to find out what needed to be trimed/cut out. then removed the kmember/engine and cut it out. I'll see if I can put the pics on my yahoo account and post them here.

send me your email address so I can email some pics to ya. for some reason, my browser is rejecting all cookies and yahoo wont let me on there like that for some reason. I'll have to figure out how to change it later. (its not on my internet options security settings either, i checked it)

well, no point in sending now, thats exactly what we did too. except we used a bmr Kmember that had very sweet mounts for the SBC engine. the LT1 mounts are diff, atleast on one side I think. the bmr kmember solves that problem very easily, and provides alot of room to access the engine. (and ofcourse saves alot of weight in the process, highly recomended)

yeah, I always think that too, but thats how Ive seen all the motorplate's installed before.
nosfedstang, you can put the engine in any position you want, forward/rearward,but the driveline angle has to be correct. atleast to the extent it doesnt contact anything else. but dont even think of doin that on a street car. you'll regret it later. you can buy motorplates from jegs and other companies that you will have to custom trim to fit your chassis.

carb. and not cutting do not go together for a fourth gen. its not a big deal, exc. that if you go back later you still wont be able to have wiper blades. even if you could get it to fit with a very low profile intake like a torker II, you'd never get an air filter on it. and forget about takin off the cap and rotor w/o dropping the eng/cradle some.
