help with speed specialty alt. relocation bracket...
Well I got this kit in today and I cant get the alternator in the hole under the driver side header. It's hitting the ABS and I can't figure out how to get it in there. I've taken off everything possible but I'm stuck.

Re: help with speed specialty alt. relocation bracket...
This was the bracket that I helped design and the motor you see in the picture is mine out of my car.
So it stands to reason I can help you.
First off are you putting the bracket on first, or the alternator and bracket at the same time? You are the first person who has ever had a problem. There is LOTS of room there when it is in the car. I am guessing you are putting them on one at a time, and I would suggest that you bolt the alternator to the bracket and then put it on as an assembly.
And dont forget to red loctite the alternator case bolts on the back side. I learned the hard way during the testing phase that they like to back out if you dont
Feel free to email me if you have more questions.

I tried the bracket first and it bolted right up fine but no chance of getting the alternator in there. Then I tried the alternator by itself just to see and with al that stuff still out and I can it about halfway in and no futher. I tried turning it in every direction and it wont go in. I can take pics for you if youd like.
