High rpm miss ~5500rpm

I have searched and found many threads started on it, but nothing solid as far as a fix or end solution. I have had this car and another one do the exact same miss around the same rpm. Both cars can go past the rpm and continue to make power. It is a stumble right around 5500 rpm. Anyone have experience with this? This car has only 5 to 10k miles on the opti and coil. Thanks in advance.

I had a similar high speed misfire on my LT1 Corvette that I drive on HPDE events. I shift at 5800 rpm. Tried to get rid of it for 3 Years, opti, wires, coil, plugs, harnesses, fuel filter; everything except the fuel pump. When I finally changed the pump, it ran clean.

Thanks for the response. My fuel pump is a fairly new (~5k miles or so) Racetronix setup with upgraded wiring also.

I will check into the suggestions made. Thank you all for your input. Any idea why many people have solved the same problem with different solutions?

i just solved my ignition issues by replacing the connectors going to the coil. So far it seems to be running great and alot better then it did before. I havent gotten it up past 5500rpms yet though. All i did was take a multimeter and check for continuity. I'm not saying this is your problem but before jumping on the opti/change everything boat i would do alot of testing.

Valvesprings are a common problem at high rpms, not just stock but with the ever common poorly matched aftemaket setups too.

i had this problem...it was most noticeable when the car was warmed up or after making 2 or 3 passes...it would run great on the first pass or 2 then it would buck, stumble and carry on around 5000-5500...i replaced the ignition coil, but it didnt fix...found that the rotor button on the opti was shot...

Going through a similar situation right now, getting a miss at WOT around 4800 RPMs and keeps going till it shifts around 5800 RPMs. Rev is bouncing all over the place but still climbs although it is losing a lot of power. I have a thread started and I am trying to figure it out now.
