Re: horrible gas mileage

I threw new 02 sensors in my car. I had no check engine light, but I only got 16mpg 90% highway. It made a 10mpg increase.

Re: horrible gas mileage

i'm still getting 7.7mpg-10mpg with my 93z28. I have done a complete tune up from oil change, oil filter, air filter, map sensor, spark splugs and wires, and o2 sensors. my car still is terrible. I dont drive it hard at all. just cruising speeds.all of my driving is done in town. the only thing i have not fixed has been my electric fans. they are hooked up directly and stays on all the time but that shouldnt even cause my milage to be that bad. i am starting to believe its something worse. i migt have to consider selling her.

Re: horrible gas mileage

I'm in the same boat as you guys. I can't get more then 180 - 190 a tank with around town driving. That's with a complete tune up and new o2 sensors. The most i got was 20mpg when i took a long trip and that was with 100% highway driving.

Re: horrible gas mileage

i get 24 mpg with driving to work on the interstate and to school in town. if i only drive on the interstate i calculated 27.8 mpg even with 4.10's. gotta love the 6 speed.

Re: horrible gas mileage

I had a small exhaust leak that cut my mileage down to about 5/8 of what it WAS getting... listen for little pffftinging/ticking from under the car. The guy that screwed the flange for my cat didn't do it tight enough and I got it fixed yesterday. Not to mention it pulls much smoother now and feels better overall.

Re: horrible gas mileage

Can you guys translate that to total kms to a tank. I've been getting under 400kms to a tank. Recently my car was running rough, I took off the hypertech PIII programming & it started runnin better. I got my trip meter set when I did the last fill up so I'm waitin to see if it helped. I suspect it did but I'll post back when I know for sure.

I wish i was in your boat then. i can only get 120-125 miles per full tank. this car is making my wallet feel like a feather!
