Horsepower gains from cam..?

Re: Horsepower gains from cam..?
When I stepped up from the CC305 and Hooker Super Comp Shorties to a CC306, Jet Hot Long tubes, and a cut out, I gained 53rwhp. Went from 298rwhp to 351rwhp. That is also with dyno tuning.

Re: Horsepower gains from cam..?
my car just made 330 rwhp and 330 rwtq with cam. i still have a few bugs to work out on it (false knock and rocker arm adjustment) and hopefully raise those numbers a little bit. that was with a PCM4less tune.

You don't have to port at the same time, but you eventually will want to. Why not do it when you are doing the cam? It is also alot easier to put the springs on with the heads off. You can port another set of heads, put the new springs and stuf on and have them ready to go. That will also speed up the swap, because you won't have to mess with the springs, they will already be done.

That way your down time for a mail order tune is around an hour, or however long it'll take you to swap the two.

Either on the top of your block or probably in the FS section of this board. They usually go for around the $250 price mentioned earlier.

Its like this...well im putting headers in the car, well to take full advantage of them, you need a cam. Oh wait, since i have a cam, now i need heads. Gee, what good are heads without compression and more cubes. 383 here i come! What!?!, a cast bottom end 383, NO WAY DUDE, you need NAWS. Here I come to the 4 bolt mains, 4340, billet rods etc etc.
Get my drift? Everything has something else after it, go in stages and have fun. Anyways, with the cam and longtubes, shoot for 330-340 in my opinion
