Horsepower Question
Folks:
People are always asking me how much HP I have and I really don't know.
I have a 95 Z28 with Pacesetter Headers, Borla exhaust wide open, K&N cold air and an LT4 Hot Cam kit.
Anybody have any ideas what the HP rating on this setup would be? I'm not looking for an exact number, but an approximate number would be OK.
Any ideas as to what else I could bolt on for more HP? I was thinking about a Granatelli air sensor.
Thanks

I would guess somewhere around 340-350rwhp. I wouldn't waste your money on the Granatelli MAF sensor. A couple of things that come to mind would be an electric water pump and a dyno tune may squeeze out some more power and as a added benefit, you'll know exactly what power your car is making.

Ditto on not using the GMAF.
However, I made 345 RWHP & 346TQ NA with my hot cam & long tube setup. I did have a mail order PCM4less tune, I didn't see you mention computer tuning which is a must.
Check it out.

Just curious how you figure he gained 100 RWHP with headers, exhaust and a hot cam. A 95 lt1 usually runs around 240 +- RWHP and if you give him 400 at the crank you are giving him around 340 RWHP which roughly translates to 400 at the crank on an M-6. I can see it with heads, but no way with just headers and a hot cam. JMHO

275 RWHP dead stock down to the paper air filter.
Then Hot cam and long tubes with a mail order tune got 70 RWHP...
So by those #'s (and the dyno test) I got 345 rwhp & 346 torque. I don't really know what else to tell you. stock: tb, injectors, heads, everything. My results are not uncommon.

275 RWHP stock is huge. Thats what they rated it from the factory at the crank. Congrats if you really dynoed that, you got a freak then.
To the original poster, do you have pacesetter longtubes or the shorty/mids they have? With a HOT Cam, long tubes, Catback and CAI it would normally be around 315-325rwhp.

Why would I lie a bout something like that?
I think the "SS" option was the main reason for the above average power. I say that because the SS was rated at 315 HP. They came up with that # due to the cold air intake and cat back that SLP put on the car. I am sure a 96 Z28 with a FIPK and a cat back should do about the same . Factory build tollerances can alter the power to the tune of 20 hp.
