They aren't junk, but it's easier to replace them now rather than risk having to replace them later.

You don't necessarily need hardened PRs unless you are going with NSA RRs. If you are not buying the kit for the Hot Cam, then I would suggest going with some heavier springs than come with the kit. JMHO

He already has the springs from the kit.

The hardened/chromemoly pushrods are required by the added stresses placed on them by the upgraded springs/cam and the increased RPM. They're too cheap to let that be the "weak link in the chain."

BTW: to minimize the chances of spinning a bearing or otherwise messing up your engine, I suggest taking your time in selecting the combination, and above all pay attention to the installation of the cam. An engine does not have to have any miles on it to spin a bearing if the install is boogered. If you buy something used, like a cam, it is wise to have it inspected by a machinest before installation. Could be bent or otherwise boogered. Have them polish it while you are at it. Problem with buying a used part is that you have little recourse if it is bad and the savings in cost may be far outweighted by the the ultilmate cost of R&R of the part or Engine. JMHO

Thunder racing used to have one. Most kits are full engine kits.

You don't need much. Timing cover and intake is all. I think the wp gaskts come with the TC set, but if not then you need those, too. Don't tear your oil pan gasket and you won't need that. Just get a lot of RTV and paper towels.

Awesome! This is m y first lt1 so I havnt done a cam swap on one of these yet. Have done plenty of SBC's though. Should be about the same.

I would guess that they are pretty close. If you didn't know, shoebox has a great cam removal and install guide on his site. That's what I used and it helped greatly.

Will I need new injectors with this cam? remember I'm spray a 125 dry shot as well.

Yes, I believe you would. Plus a dyno tune to play it safe. Do you have a way to pull timing for the spray?

I have a mallory 685 but I dont think it works, guess Ill send it to them to get refurb'd. What size injectors?

For 125 dry shot and cam, I'd say 37#, but I always over-estimate.

I didn't think we could use a dry shot on our cars???

Yup been running a dry shot for about a year now. Think I can get by with some svo 30's? I can get a set for $100
