How can water(not coolant) get in oil?

My buddy has around 8K on a rebuilt LT1. He was at my house over the weekend so his car sat for two days. We went to change his oil and as soon as we cracked the drain plug, about a pint of water (clear with no smell) came out. The rest of the oil was normal looking, with the occaisional streak of "Milk". His filter was full of milky oil. His coolant is at the same level as before. We pressure tested the coolant system, and checked compression, and everything is fine!
Car runs smooth, no noises, good oil pressure.

Kind of baffled, where could it have come from?

Either the coolant actually is water or someone poured water in the crankcase. There is not really any other way that much water can get in there.

One thing to think about is even though the coolant is still at the top of the radiator, it may be from the resivor.
