Question How difficult is it to do a long tube install?

I'm buying headers soon and I need to know if it's going to be more trouble than it's worth to do long tubes.

Let me know what you think.

It's not to hard. Just take you time and make sure you don't forget anything. Here's a link to a pretty good walk through:

http://www.theheadfl.com/jethotlt.htm

His walk-through pretty much tells you everything, I would suggest changing your plugs/wires when you do the install too. If you nhave any more questions don't hesitate to ask someone on here...

It really isn't all too hard, just very aggravating sometime. The hardest part is getting the car high enough in the air to slip the headers in.

I didn't think it was bad at all, and I did it all by myself. The big part is remember that brains, not braun will pull you through. In other words, if it doesn't fit at first, don't try to muscle it, you'll just get pissed. You have to be smarter than what you are working with and jack up the motor and angle things differently.

I did most of it by myself. It is kinda tricky, the right type of tools help a lot and you need a lot of patience!

Do yourself a favor and replace the motor mounts while you're there. I wish I had...

Probably not with just 30k miles. But it'll only cost you $50 for the poly mounts, so why not go ahead for the peace of mind.

I'll be doing mine this weekend and I wish I had done them when I installed the headers 2k miles ago... My car has 93k now though.

FLP'S fit in without moving the motor at all, unlike hookers. If I remember correctly, the passenger side header will fit from the top if you take the valve cover off. The driver side goes in from the bottom. It wasn't too bad at all.

Believe it or not, I did not have to lift the engine to get my Hooker's into the car. And I put both of my headers in from the bottom.

When I look in my engine bay I still don't know how I got those things in there... Just be really patient with it and don't shortcut with the wires and the wiring harnesses. If you let yourself get excited when you finally get them in there and forget to put things back on or forget to make sure there are no wires touching the headers you will be sorry later.
