Question how do I check Ignition Coil Ohms???

I trying to check out the ohms on my Ignition coil, but get a littel confused. I'm following hte Haynes manual. It first tell me to check Voltage on main electrical connector. I'm assuming its the one on top, so I check the pink, and its good. Then I put the scale on low ohms, and check the connections on the left, and I get liek a 1.1 (set at 200 on the scale).

I then put it on the next step ont he scale (2000) and check the slots, and it jump to 200 then back to 0. I try again a 20K and does the same, and stays at 0. I try to put in on 200 again, and I get a 0.3 reading.

This is all with the top connection off by the way.

Did I do this wrong??? I got all the correct readign for the first two steps, but its that last one that I'm not sure about. The pic on the haynes manual shows a readong of 7.XX with the scale at 20K I think, (I know its not 200). Could this mean that my Ignition Coil is bad, or did I do it wrong.

I ask cus I get hessitation at WOT near redline, and I was gonan try to replace Coil Before Opti. (plugs done already).

Thx for any input.

Thx a lot for the link. I got a reading of 8.0 wich is better than 0.3

Now for another question, is there a chance that the coil could still be causing hessitation at high RPM if these numbers came out fine????

I would suppose so-it's merely a test to prove that the windings are not open or very high resistance. There could be other possibilities, too. Like coil wire, ICM, optispark...
