I almost had them off, I see that you flip them 180*, push the release lock, and they should slide off, however mine only come a little bit off, then get caught on the wiper arms. I tried prying them with a screwdriver, no luck. Am I missing something here? Thanks.

Nope, not missing anything there. You just got to play with them and then they will slide off pretty easily

 

mine didn't slide off easily at all. don't be afraid to use some force because that arm is pretty solid.. but i wouldn't advise turning the wiper against the engine.
