How do these corrected times sound?
I finally figured out the correct density altitude and now am able to correct my times I ran on wednesday. http://www.stangbangerz.com/modules....h&file=density
I took 3 out of my 9 runs and converted them over:
Best MPH given the conditions:
14.261@103.54
60': 2.403
Temp: 86
Absolute barometer: 23.38
Humidity: 40%
Elevation: 0 (already factored into the barometer)
Corrects to 11.95@120.29
Overall Best MPH:
14.325@104.21
60': 2.545
temp: 76
Barometer: 23.41
Humidity: 40%
Elevation: 0
12.23@119.48
Overall Best ET:
14.117@103.32
60': 2.293
Temp: 82
Barometer: 23.38
Humidity: 40%
Elevation: 0
11.92@119.44
Obviously traction is a major problem here with a 383 on street tires. I think the car as is, with some more pcm tuning and a little weight reduction, with 1.7 or 1.8 60' will go 12.7-12.8 up here:
12.8@103.54 with the same conditions as the first run listed = a 10.73@120.29

"Ive always had very good consistent reults with it, and they seem to be pretty good to real world. I can go out and run 14 flat at 1000 DA, corrected to lets say 13.5.
Go out on a 0 DA day, and i run that 13.5."
Let me know what you guys think! I think something might be off, but ya never know.
I think i might have to take a road trip down to phoenix after i can get some drivetrain mods so i can see what it will run down near sea level at speedworld. It seems to be the closest track that is decently low elevation.
PS: If you are just gonna be stupid and say the car is slow b/c it ran 14s on street tires at 10k DA, then dont post.

Good times, People dont realize how much altitude actually affects 1/4 times. i live in oklahoma and dont have that problem but if you made it to a diffrent track away from where you are for sure with a little cooler tempature id like to hear what youd run.

All i gotta say is your car is slow, and I'll whoop you any day of the week with my stock *** camaro. You cant drive, thats the reason for your ****ty times. Put a real driver in the seat like me and I'll show ya how it's done.

Doh, just remembered why altitude kicks ***. The factor of not having to replace parts as many times. If i go down to sea level, i'll be having to change injectors, up here my stockers are only at 80% DC

I think the trap speeds will come down a little once the car hooks well (i know they will, which is something the calculator doesnt have control over). But if you pull those types of 60's on a different track, i am willing to be that the calculator is fairly close. A 383 should have no problems with high 11s like that correction factor gives, but i am thinking you will be a little faster than that once it hooks at sea level.

I wish i lived at sea level to see what she can do since the correction factors arent dead nuts accurate. Id love to take it down, but i cant justify price after remembering that it will need a new tune, bigger injectors, and some more **** that is unneeded up here. Some day when i have money and my drivetrain is complete or if i come across a cheap set of injectors, maybe....

M6 with 342 gears and drag radial = NIGHTMARE launches. Get some gear and some real tires and 1.8s should be cake. If you can pull a 1.8 now, i would be very happy.
Also remember the correction factors isnt just for altitude, but also temperature and humidity. I can count on one hand the number of times we have had a DA of under 500 feet here in cincy. So even if you go low elevation, you will still likely have a DA of 1000+ feet. Those corrected numbers are in PERFECT weather conditions.

But, if i find a place with a close to zero DA it theoretically should run 10s?
You say mph is skewed b/c of spinning launch, should it be higher or lower?
