Question How To Fix A Flaired Cam Dowl........????????

I just purchaced a Lt-1 to LT-4 conversion kit from Scoggin Dickey..... and when I logged onto their web site it stated that the dowl pin on the Hot Cam needed to be pushed in to .10 +/- .01...... Well I did as they advised and I flaired the dowl so it wont fit into the timing gear hole now..........How do you get a dowl out of a cam shaft.......If i can get it out then I can use the dowl from my stock cam to put into the new one.......

I had to grind down the dowel on mine because it exceeded the max installed height of .620". I used a grinder and carefully removed the excess material (and resulting lip I created in the process) and then ensured that the O.D of the pin was no more than the max. of .250". One can remove the pin for this simple procedure, but it is unnecessary (assuming the cam is not already installed in the engine).
