Question How hard is it to take a 4L60E out by yourself?

With limited mechanical skills and hand tools? Tranny is giving out again.

really long extensions and a 9/16" socket are the most used tools during the tranny drop...

renting a tranny jack from ur local tool rental store helps quite a bit...

The top two bellhousing bolts are a PITA! You NEED a LONG extension. The crossmembers need to come off, both of them. The engine will be tilted back, have jack with wooden block under oilpan. Good luck with the cooler lines. Take your time, it's not that hard.

I took mine out last weekend. Ive done it once before and I didnt know anything about it (hardly.) It wasnt that hard with the help of a wobble socket (3/8ths that connects the extention and the socket about an inch long) and a floor jack. I think the hardest part was getting the dipstick tube back in and getting the cooler lines off. But it is rewarding doing it yourself.
