Re: How Much Horse Power
I think you guys are being too generous with the 280rwhp mark. Id say closer to 260-265 or so. First off the ram air intake from the SS hood really isnt all that great. Generally a regular CAI will work better. Also that MAF is really not that great of a mod for a basically stock LT1. And we dont even know what kind of headers you're getting. Sorry but I think if your running shorties you arent going to see too much over 260. If you get a good set of longtubes you MAY see 270-275. Just my .02, take it for what its worth.

Re: How Much Horse Power
I would not bother with a dyno-tune. Just get a mail-order tune. If you just want to have it dynoed to see what your numbers are, that's ok, but I wouldn't waste my money on that. Furthermore, most dynos don't have the capability of tuning anyway. All they do is tell you what your putting to the wheels (which can vary from dyno to dyno). Mail-order tune will put you in the ball park with regard to proper A/F ratio, up your limit on your rpms to around 6300, and set your fans to go with a 160 Thermostat (which you should install in place of the stocker) JMHO

Re: How Much Horse Power
Even if you don't go with 1.6RRs, it won't hurt a bit to go with some stronger spings since a stock Lt1 seems to float the stock springs at higher RPMs robbing you of top end performance.
I just happen to have a set of REV springs that will easily accommodate your needs. They can use your stock retainers.
