How much HP/TQ is your 383 producing?

I'm in the process of picking out parts for my 383 motor in my car...i know that there are many variables to the parts i get but i'm wondering what kind of hp/tq levels i could expect with a n/a motor...

post your hp/tq levels plus what kind of cam are you running and what internals...did you get dyno tuning...or do you still have stock computer tuning...

what do you recommend...also is a new timing chain and cover a must when doing a 383?

i was told that my stock injectors must go and i have to get at least 30lb...

i'm on a pretty tight budget...so far i was looking at the LT1 383 stroker short block assembly from www.speedomotive.com
i'm keeping stock lt1 heads and intake excpet for i 'm getting them ported and polished...i was looking at using the lt4 hot cam kit also

i really hate to ask the..."how much hp do you think i have now?" question but i want to know if spending the extra money on rebuilding to a 383 is really worth it........???

thanks in advance for posting

HP/TQ with RPMs

I would be interested in these dyno numbers too. Including what the rpms were at peak HP/TQ.

First off you wont need a new timing cover, a new computer will help drivability and performance but you can run without it. Ive still got the stock program. I would recommend a better timing chain. And yes, 30lbs injectors if not 36#. I just finished my storker and got it broke in not too long ago. I can not tell you what a great feeling it is to launch this beast. My back tires are bald after a month of driving it. I would say it is definitely worth it!

I haven't dynoed yet and the high stall converter probably wouldn't give an accurate # but the engine builder said 450+hp with an XE 230/236 cam. I've been beating guys running mid to low 12s so far.

Hoping to get a timeslip in spring to make it official.

K-town is Arcadia. Its directly inland from Sarasota on 72. I do all the work on my car myself. The only thing I cant do is machine work and computer reflashing. Anyhting else I do with the help of the guys on here. My heads were done by a guy in South Carolina.
