How much louder will my car be?
Im going from stock manifolds and y pipe with flowmaster A.T. Cat back. To
Pacesetter LT's
ORY
into my flowmaster.
I know that headers wont make it louder, but will change it to more of a tinny tone. However, I thought that with the ORY, it should make it noticably louder Will it ???

lol the snap crackle pop isnt disgusting to all ears ... Only to cops, women, and most guys. I actually think a car with no cats sounds kinda sweet when you let off the throttle and it starts with the popping and stuff lol

Get something like this:

It will make it sound great without cats. Mine was a little obnoxious after removing the cats (loud, but also raspy and tinny), so I had the shop install a 12" version (many exhaust shops sell these or generic equivalents), and it made it just about perfect. Made the tone much lower, and eliminated all the rasp and tinny sound. As a matter of fact, it may even be a little too quiet again. Anyway, cost me $40 including labor for it.

Instead of the straight pipe, use a 12" Dynomax bullet muffler (some places may list it as 18" overall length). On my car, it cut out all the rasp and popping noise. Without the cat, and through the Hooket cat-back, the car was VERY loud. I guess 11.8:1 compression and a 230/236 cam will do that...
