How much should I desensitize my KS on my 93?

I'm looking into desensitizing my KS on my 93 TA, I have the hotcam kit with the GM 1.6RR's and 24# SVO's (which clack loud as hell) and I want to make sure that I don't have any knock retard. It's my daily driver so I still want it to sense real knock (abviously) but I don't know what a good percentage is of desensitizing it... Should I take only 10-20% off? 50? Could use some help, Thanks

You should first scan your car and find if you are having knock retard. Just because you have a cam and rockers doesn't mean you are going to have FALSE knock retard. It may be real.

Scan your car, then scan again with some race gas (unleaded not the octane booster crap) and see if the KR goes away. If it does then the Knock is real and you want to tune your cars fuel and timing to eliminate it. If it is false you want to find the mechanical noise and correct that.

P.S. not all noise is interpreted by the PCM as knock so don't assume you have a problem without scanning.
