How much will this cost me to get done???
1996 Camaro Z28

I just put MAC headers on and i stripped 2 bolts to hold it to the head, so they arent there. For a quick fix i used a lot of silicone and it worked for a little, till i started to beat on it, so yea I gotta change the gasket now. But I want to take the head off and get the threads fixed.
To bring it to a shop and have them pull the head, get it machined, then wrap it all up again....anyone know how much it would be????

When one of my head gaskets blew, I had a few shops quote me $1250-$1500 to replace the gaskets (i.e, pull the heads). That was for both gaskets, so if you only need one, I imagine it would be less, but still not cheap. Then you have machining costs on top of that. Pulling the head wasn't extremely hard though, just time consuming, so you might want to consider doing it yourself...

Head
Same thing happend to me just take the head off yourself its really not that bad the only problem i had was that damn bonjoe bolt in the back. I took my head to a machine shop and they retap and helicoiled all the holes in my head for 14 each and i had all new springs and seals put in while the head was off the car. worked out perfect
