How should I set up my 847 cam?
I know that Crane cuts the GM847 cam and they cut 4* into them from the factory. I just ran DD2000 with a 383 and this cam installed straight up at 0* and then 4* advanced. The straight up 0* made 31hp and 9fttq more than 4* advanced that was ground in from factory
My question is: Should I install the cam 4* retarded using cloyles adjustable keyway on the crank or install the cam straight up as normal with factory 4* cut into the cam.

Well first of all Desktop Dyno isn't terribly accurate. Don't put too much faith in it. Also realize by installing straight up you'll be giving up some hp and tq on the lower end.
Other than that....go for it. Retarding a cam is a good way to make more peak power w/o having to have such huge duration numbers..keeps the driveability from being so bad.

What's up Chris? I'm just trying to get the best performance possible out of this cam. EA is saying almost the same as DD2000, an adverage lose of 4ft torque from 2000 to 3500 rpm and everything else picks up real good.

I have the same cam installed in a 383 straight up, torque down low is in absolute abundance, I think if you want to put it at "0" go for it, let us see the results.
