Re: how slower is stock lt1 than ls1

I didn't read the whole thread but here we had a ls1 car (sorry don't know the year) and it was running 9.0-9.1 and it was stock, my LT1 was running 8.6 at the same track maybe its a diiferent story in the 1/4. Just what I have seen, maybe it was sick?

Re: how slower is stock lt1 than ls1

to answer the question, an lt1 is a lot slower than an ls1, all other things being equal ofcourse (that should go without saying). Stock ls1 heads will produce the same power as fully ported lt1 heads with oversize valves, with any given camshaft. As far as I know, the ls1 motor produce more torque on an engine dyno at just about any given rpm than the lt1 will.

well u gotta think about it , GM made teh LS1 to outperform the LT1 and the way i c it they did a good job
better flowing heads and intake, better ignition sysetem , aluminum block is lighter (i like iron myself) better topend but overall the LT1 is somewhat inferior to teh LS1 IMHO

thats one think GM wanted and thats what the designed
