How to spin in a manual

How do you spin your tires in a manual without droping at 4 or so K ? to heat them up from traction

If you are not running slicks or drag radials there is no need to heat them up, they will not hook any better.

But for cool burnouts, dump the clutch and go right to the brake with your left foot and hold it.

Or you can try the old heel on the brake toe on the gas, but it can be a bit tricky.

I put mine in 3rd and drop the clutch. Makes for quick heating of the tires in the box

I always wonderd when your doing a burnout and you have disc brakes in the back how the tire can still spin when holding the brake.

You need to just barely hold the brake hard enough to keep you from moving. The front brakes have more force than the rears.

well u got 275 hp stock, so ur gonna overpower ur rear break, but ur front break will hold u steady

like when i learned to drive a standard transmission on a hill my dad would use the e-brake to keep me steady until i got my foot on the gas

That is all true. I'll add to that though. We have less than perfect weight distrubution (furthur reason to bias the brake pressure to the front through a portioning valve) and the coefficient of kinetic friction is less than static friction. The same principle behind the concept of antilock brakes.

Yeah i would just get line lock. It isn't too good on the brakes to hold them like that.

Think about what happens when you are going 80 or 100 MPH and you step on the brake to slow down, you are doing the same thing, spinning you tire while holding the brake. The brakes are made for that and it will not really harm them to do a little burnout. Prolly harm your tires much more
