how to stop exaust leak

Well, i installed MAC headers, and used copper gaskets. but, there is still an exaust leak. Both sides have slight leaks around the middle two exaust ports. Ive tried tightening them as much as possible, but they still are leaking...should i try changing the gaskets or what?

Take the header off and thoroughly clean the mating surfaces on the header and the cylinder head. If you have a leak problem RTV most likely won't help it and if it does it will easily blow out after a short time. The problem with some copper gaskets is that the raised crush collar sometimes doesn't line up with the ports on the header. The places where it doesn't line up are where it leaks most likely. You can try felpro 1406's with ultra copper smeared on them but make sure to clean the mating surfaces first. I recently had luck fixing my incurable exhaust leak by using Percy's dead-soft aluminum gasket with ARP 1" bolts. I went through 2 felpro 1406 with RTV on both passenger and driver's side before I switch to alum.

I run GM tir layer metal gaskets . they'er like 12 bucks for the set and have run them on two cars no leaks even with crappy flanges.

They are the OE replacement for 94 LT1 cars
