How to take apart the opti?

How to take apart the opti?

I am goginto be putting on a LTCC kit, i need to know how to take out the cap and rotor on the opti, what size are those little screw thngs? and what do i need to be careful doing, and how should i seal it back up again?

You will need a special torx style bit for it. I believe its a T7. Someone will chime in with the correct answer.

The tool to take the optispark cap off will cost you $0.85.

E4 socket. You were close. It was a torx.

what do i have to be careful of? can i damage something? and do i seal it with RTV?

For the cap it's a deep E-4:

For the rotor it's a small torx, I think T-8.

If you're only taking off the cap and rotor nothing much to be careful of. The delicate parts are below that.

If it's a 1st-gen opti, then if you want to seal it, you should vent it, so any moisture that does get in has a way out. If it's a 2nd-gen opti, then seal away.

thanks again for all the info, i think i will practive with one of my crap optis and play around justt to make sure i dont screw my good one up, i tend to screw stuff up.
