why is it on every site that someone asks for 300hp and all of a sudden 40 people are like you need heads cam blower built bottom end two nitrous kits and you should be right around your goal. last i checked that the corvette lt1 produced 300hp chalked up to the dual exhaust. why on earth would you suggest porting heads, heads or a cam?

To get 300hp from my LT1 I would subtract 400

Honestly, though, how hard is that to do?

Are you asking 300 at the wheels in an lt1 ....easily but if you have a shop do it it could cost you a bit

- LT4 CAM = GOOD CAM FOR DAILY DRIVER 1.6 ROLLER ROCKERS
- FULL EXH LT EXHUST
- COLD AIR INTAKE
- POSSIBLE PORTING YOUR STOCK HEADS .40 OVER 350 357
I have all bolt ons with LT4 set up and im putting 341 @ wheels overall 425

I wanna go with a cc306 cam but pain in the ***

With the all bolts on high quality with lt4 cam im running 12.6 - 12.8 best trap 111 on ****ty *** stree tires

you do not need alll that **** to make 300 you start out at 275 flywheel around 240 if you do cold air , full exhust , maybe bigger cam 300 @ wheels is cake

And if you're replacing the head gasket on only one head, use the stock GM head gasket (part number 10168457).

True dual exhaust is very possible - do a search and you'll find a wealth of information.
intake manifold is going to do **** nor would 52 tb to a 58 do a damn thing waste of money !!!!!

Intake, catback & LT's, Pcm tune. that should be good for 300rw. With 1.6rr's, 52mm tb, pulley and ewp you should be 325-320rwhp. with a m6 car.

SS hood will look nice, but don't bother with a functional ram air setup. Get a K&N, Moroso, or the like cold air intake. Hypertech anything or "stage 2 IAT sensor" type stuff will not net you any power. Either get it dyno tuned, or a mail order tune once you're done adding parts. Or you could get real fancy and tune it yourself. Headers and a cat back are a good place to start.

You're doing the right thing so far, ask questions and research before you start spending money on things, or breaking things. The search function will be your best friend for a while.

Exactly why I didn't waste any time mentioning anything else. He could probably hit 300rwhp without 1.6rrs. Why are you people mentioning cams? He stated it's a DD and he's just looking for a few more ponies.

I would suggest full exhaust, a CAI and rockers for the most reliable 300rwhp. That should put you pretty close so a few minor bolt-ons will get you to your goal. (52mm TB, etc.)

Or just get your stock LT1 heads ported and buy a small cam, for way less than the cost of the LT4 package.

But..... the OP still hasn't told us if he wants 300HP at the flywheel, or at the rear wheels. After all, he was only asking how to gain 25HP.

wow.. this dude is going to end up pissing money away on all kinds of stuff that isn't going to help him.. and 300rwhp with an lt4 top end? you need a better tune. jonescap is putting 356rwhp in his 96 c4 with the stock lt4 engine with a hot cam, lt's and a ewp.

This post made me lol hard. I thought the same. The op is going to stomp into his car after all this is done and lose his lunch.
