Hypertech programer-1 to 11

I have a programer for OBD1, one of my cars (94) has the OBD1 port, the other (95) has the OBD11 port but same computer. I down loaded the 94 back to stock setting and want to reprogram the 95, of course the ports are diff.. Shoebox has a tip on how to make 2 wires to check the computer with an OBD11 analizer. I wonder if I use the 2 wires if they will let the programer load the 95, or will I need to put the computer in the 94 to reprogram it. I know if I swap it will do it, just trying to find a shortcut. anybody??

My instructions are how to adapt an OBD-I scanner to the 16 pin port. You could try the adaption method. It might work.

Thanks, Shoebox, my bad, I meant to put 1 instead of 11. I guess what I don't see is that will the 2 wires let me reprogram the computer with the programer, or, are more connections needed.

I program my 95 with Tunercat through those same 2 wires with a custom adapter I made.

You know the hypertech is junk right?? Why jump through hoops to use junk??

Sell it on ebay, buy a cable and Tunercat and you will be further ahead.

I don't know what Tuner cat is, I don't have a laptop if it's needed.

Don't really need a laptop, a desktop you can run a cable from works just as well for Tunercat.

Tunercat lets you fully reprogram the pcm and a laptop that will run it is DIRT cheap as the requirements are easily met by a 10 year old machine.
I have an OLD one the battery no longer works on so I run it off an extension cord when programming or off a power inverter when running datamaster. Talking 266mhz 92 meg RAM 6gig HD windows 98.

I don't think you will find anyone knowledgable with anything positive to say about Hypertech unless they dig for an excuse just to prove me wrong.

I am not an advocate of Hypertech, just happens to be the kind I bought in 97, mainly just use to to set fans turn-on between winter and summer when I use the 160stat in summer and 180 in winter, and set for 3.42 or 4.10 gears. I am just reaching out for a better way than swapping comp. setting it and swapping it back, thought maybe there was an easier way. I went to tuner cat site and saw what it does is way over my head without test equip., such as fuel/air ratio, fuel dump on accel. BLM etc, also I would need a cord 200ft. long to reach my car from PC. I truely do appreciate all the input and interest all have shown, that in itself is what makes this a superior site, plus the levity in the lounge, works for me.

I used one for a few things, I think they work good for what they are while your in the beginning stages of modding. The power tuning isnt worth crap, but the rest comes in pretty handy and is easier then mail order back and forth deal.

Shoebox already tried to clarify this, but I'm not sure he was clear enough.

The terms are ODB-I and ODB-II. They end with capital i's, not the number one. They are Roman numerals, and they should be pronounced "oh dee bee one" and "oh dee bee two".

Definitely not eleven.
