THROTTLE BODY CLEANER
ALSO ITS A GOOD THING TO REPLACE WHEN DOING A TUNE UP OR JUST FOR KICKS
AND FOR ALL YOU PEOPLE THAT HAVE SPRAYED THROTTLE BODY CLEANER IN YOUR INTAKE WHILE THE CAR WAS ON OR OFF UNLESS YOU DISCONNECTED THE SENSOR ITS BAD AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED

You don't waste money on replacing sensors unless they are not working. A scan tool will easily tell you the condition of the MAP sensor. Yes, a bad one would effect gas mileage and power, since the purpose of the sensor is to detect engine load (vacuum).

Have to disagree here. I 've used throtte body cleaner, MAP is working fine, and have checked it against a vacuum gauge. Still right on the money even after 150k.

bad gas milage is usually more affected by driving style and/or bad O2 sensors.
but yeah...the map is easy to change...and i bought one $35 from the local auto store last year.

90 percent of the time a bad MAP will give a major rich condition. You will be able to see black smoke at idle, and as others said it will trip a code. Do you have a SES light. Bad milage could be EGR, O2s, fouled plugs/wires. Just go have it scaned.
