I give up with the heat issue

It's me again. That temp sensor worked for a day or two it went to 215 in the back roads and 210 on the highway. The I went to eat with my girl and it runs 210 on the highway and if you stop at a light it slowly rises versus shooting to the red like it used to.

Well I parked it in my garage and after 30 seconds it goes to 230 and no fans go on as usually and it stays at 230-240 and I turn the heat on and it that doesn't lower the temps. I don't know what to do. I changed the sensor on the water pump last month, 4 people bleed the car, checked coolant as its good. It has two new hoses, new radiator cap last month. The temp sensor broke in a million peaces when I changed it. Heater is hot. I turn the AC on the the fans don't come on .Car doesn't gurgle any more thank god. I do see some coolant drops on the plug wires that go in the opti and runs on the strut bar the sway bar I mean. But that was prolly from me opening the cap 3 days ago. I guess whats left is a thermostat, and if that doesn't help im gonna freakin put a switch to turn the fans on. I think the reason it hits a lower rate which is 230-235 degree's is because the fans are not on. Its like 35 degree's in CT can't imagine what happens in the summer, lol. I guess thermostat, then manually fan switch. Then maybe sell it for a ZX10R. I don't want to sell the car because its hot looking and its in mint condition I mean the paint and the interior. Car runs strong for 150,000 miles. Punch it and it screams and fish tales everywhere and when you punch it it throws you back in a millisecond and once and a while the car slides on the highway when you punch it at 56- 58 MPH. Tires are 245's. I don't really have money, I don't know what to do.

I checked the relays, coolant, stock water pump, fuses, the plastic air damn is okay, no leaves as I clean the car every inch every winter because I don't work in winter.

You don't need a fan switch to keep the car cool, if something is wrong that would just be "band-aiding" the situation. I would try a thermostat, and also figure out if the radiator is clogged. Are all of the hoses installed correctly? - Sometimes the two hoses under the radiator cap are easy to mix up and that can cause big problems - like overflowing your resevoir. What kind of new cap did you install? I would stick with a stock replacement. After you changed your sensors did you add coolant to the radiator directly or just to the overflow tank. Have you actually taken the radiator cap off to see if the radiator is full when the car is cold?

About the heat issue

Its a 18 pound radiator cap.Coolant is always full. Hoses are good. If the radiator is clogged how do you know? Can I use a tool to flush it out? Should I buy a 160 or a 170 thermostat I heard a 160 you will have no heat and the car will run rich and run like crap. If the thermostat doesn't work im gonna have to band aid it with a switch to turn on those stupiud fans that never go on.

Jumper the fans from the battery. See if direct power makes them turn.

Fans worked one time a mechanic used this tool and poked the relay box and the fans went on. Thermostat next week or two then use a switch and turn those suckers on at a stop light.

If he jumped them from the relay to the fan then you know they are getting power to the relay. Relay and the fuse box is not making it to the fan motor.

Stock F-body will heat up to around 230 then the fans will come on and cool it down to around 200-210, if the fans dont come on the car is going to just keep overheating and it will get worse in the summer.

Do a search or post a new thread and find out how to diagnose the fans... Follow everything back untill you find out what is not making them come on.

Switch out the fuse and the relay for the fans too and see if that makes them come on.
Untill you get it figuared out you can make your own fan switch...just do a search for it, but it isnt something you want to rely on for ever, you need to find out what the problem is.

SO the reason why....

So now the reason why its running hot now its because the fans , it runs okay on the highway and the back roads just that when I stop it creeps a little. Is it a motor problem or is it just because the fans don't turn on that makes the car run that hot. I don't understand that I put a new temp sensor on the block and runs good for a day or two then its running hotter and hotter.

As has been said if the fans don't come on about 230* and without them it will keep getting hotter.
Think about what you just said,on the highway ya got enough air coming through the rad to keep it cool. When just tooling around ya don't and need the fans.
Can't say the fans are all of the problem but they need to work before ya go ANY further.

Well IF ya read what I posted that's the point.

At driving speed ya don't NEED the fans as enough air is coming through the front to cool it.
Slow/stop and go, doesn't have any/enough to cool it.
The fans WILL come on at 35 and above if it runs HOT. Otherwise there is enough air being pushed through the front at 35 and above.
The fans are heat/electrical not speed/RPM activated. 411

Have you checked the hose that runs under your battery to your rad. Mine leaked like crazy and never seen any signs of a leak. Car was running hot all the time .You might want to look there. just a guess
