Angry I hate my fuel gauge!!!!!!

Just wanted to know if anyone had any trouble with their factory fuel gauges......mine sucks.....i can put 1 gal and get to the 1/4 mark, and i can put about 10 dollars worth over the full mark, no to mention the fact that it moves when i brake or accelerate and when turning....i have friends with fords for god sakes with better gauges and im sick of it....i was thinking of one of these beacuse i know they use the gm stock sender for sure....

GM PART # 12371178 , which is white faced, gm gauge for 3x.xx bux that works with stock wiring...

does anyone have any experience with fuel gauges....is it the sender unit that sucks or the gauge....mine is fully functional, it just sucks

My understanding is that it's the shape of the tank that sends a "not so ideal" signal back to the gauge. It's just a function of gas tank shape and where the sensors are located within.

Not much you can do about it, unless you want to create an electronic device that will make the signal from the tank more linear. Everyone has the same dealings with the gauge.

Cool

No sending unit will be accurate. The tank is shaped like a tear, compacting towards the bottom. When your guage reads 1/4 tank, you actually have about 2 gallons. Thats why you seem to run forever when you fill it to the top.
Just adjust how you fuel up and don't let it go below the 1/4 mark
