I know you guys get this a lot, but....

I'm looking for an exhaust system. There are quite a few options, so I wanted to come here 1st.

From my reasearch, Borla seems to be what I want.

I'm looking for a deep growl, something that doesn't sound raspy at all. I've been told Borla is the way to go. I'm also looking for a four tip setup, two tips per side. Recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

I along with many others love the Hooker Catback. Sounds pretty mellow at idle, but mean at wot and not raspy at all, and it also has the daul/dual tips. To me it sounds like a Nascar. I previously had a Flowmaster and it was very raspy. Borla is a very good setup as well, but quite a bit more expensive than the hooker.

I have the Borla and I absolutely love it. It has the interchangable plate system, which is cool, but it can be made even better by doing what I did and putting a DMH Electric Cutout there. Now I can press a switch in the car and it will either go through the side with the muffler or the side with no muffler at all. The Borla is a perfect setup for that. I think it's awesome! Just my 2 cents. I also love the tips!

I've also heard hooker is very good to. Any good places (websites?) to read about it?

My primary concern w/Borla is that only one side goes through the muffler, right?

From what you describe you're wanting, Corsa would also be a good option.

Thanks for the link gamecockfan04, checking it out now. I like the price. I've got $600 to spend. With this, I may be able to also get installation w/a pcm program. Nice.

Corsa is good, but i think it might be out of your price range if you only have 600 to spend.

IMO, Borla is one of the raspiest. Never have liked it.

I had Borla and hated it. Very raspy and it just isnt worth the money. I changed it out for a Hooker catback and I'm very happy. With LTs, the Borla went from crappy to just plain embarrassing. IMO theres money much better spent than on a $600-700 exhaust.

I would stay away from Borla if you ever plan on getting headers. It will sound terrible once you put a set of headers on. I would give Hooker a try.

Big thanks. Yeah, I'm looking to get some LT's later this year. Gotta do it in baby steps.

Sounds like Hooker. Anyone know where I can grab some sound clips of a hooker at work?

Much appreciated btw.

(And I could spend more then $600, but I would like to keep it under. )

This link is ok, but still does the hooker no justice:http://dodds.cc/chad/garage/z28/ls1_...tback_lt1.mpeg

Right click the link in my sig and save it. Hooker catback with manifolds and no cat. Will soon have the same catback with long tubes.

Edit: You'll need divx.

Probably borla or hooker in your case...I prefer the sound of my magnaflow over both of those but it sounds "different" kinda raspy a little more racous maybe.
