Wink i need 500 rwhp......

Ok people real simple ..I have a 94 z28 with a LT1 of course
I'm looking to get around 450- 500 rwhp what is the most inexpensive and most reliable way to get there…

What Should I go with ?

Bolt on parts

Turbo

Supercharger

383 stroked kid

Lt4 conversion

And what can I do to get there and still have a very reliable car that I can drive every day if I wanted to?
As of now I'm stock with a CAI …...

A well built and engined 383 could get you between 450-500rwhp N/A and would by far be the more reliable than a power adder car. Give me a call and I can go into more detail on some options with you.

Ehhh, 500rwhp and inexpensive doesn't go together. Well, you can get a heads/Cam package from LE or Ai, or somebody of that nature and get about 400-420hp...but with all corresponding hardware you will probably have over $3000 in that. Many people run the stock bottom end with this much power without issues, but there are probably just as many people that have spun a bearing after the swap...so a built bottom end will most likely be necessary to be as reliable as you would like. Turbo and Superchargers aren't the most reliable ways to get more power either...because LT1s have a pretty high compression ratio, and hyper pistons and thats not a very good FI setup. Still would need the other corresponding hardware for FI as well(headers, injectors..etc) So you would need a built bottom end with that as well. You will need a combintaion of the parts you listed to get 500RWHP. Why do you need 500RWHP? That much power will def cost you a chunk of cash.

Re: i need 500 rwhp......

Question: Why?

Did you decide you want 500 RWHP because it's a nice round number?
Have you driven a car with say 350 RWHP? 400 RWHP?

It doesn't take much to take a vette.

I was easily, I say that loosly, outrunning a stock c6 at the track when I went last time. Granted he was on street tires, but was pulling decent 60s and trap speeds.

350 rwhp and a little traction and a good driver will take a $52k vette. Soon spray will go back on to make up for the modded ones.

Cam, exhaust, gears, tires, suspension and alittle spray for the weekends. Cheapest and prob most reliable way to hit your goal if you do it right and go easy on the bottle..

Re: i need 500 rwhp......

Ditto!!! First of all you have to know your goals:
-Super Fast street car, with great handling, driveability
- OR Fast drag car just for the track with good drag suspension...

I decided to go for the street car, that will out run, out brake and out handle 99% on the street (403RWHP, full bmr suspension, Coil overs with Strano Shocks, 17x11 wheels, C5 breaks). My car is 100% driveable as a daily driver, and I have no problems with it...If you will go for 500RWHP, I thing that power adder (supercharger preferably), is a must...You can’t build inexpensive stocker that will run 500RWHO with street manners (you will have to go with solid roller)

I think that the best way is to rebuild your motor with low compression forged pistons (no need for other upgrades) with LE1/2 package with all supporting mods (injectors, LT headers, 52MM TB, tuning). Than if you won’t be satisfied with the power you have slap supercharger on it (5psi will be very save and will get you over 500RWHP mark)...
LE1/2 Package -$1800
Supporting mods-$1200
Engine refresh with forged pistons $1000 (not including pulling it out and installing it back)
Used Supercharger from "For sale Forum" $1500
Sebastian
ps. Now go and find a friends with 350RWHP and 400RWHP cars and test drive, I think that you might change your mind...

Re: i need 500 rwhp......

Don't we all need that..lol. That kind of NA hp will cost you a good bit. But..seeing that your just lookin to beat a vette all you need is a good heads/cam package and you should kill him if you can drive.

Re: i need 500 rwhp......

My car has $8500 in it total. Thats including the cost of the car and a specII clutch. I love the Vette, but if you want fast without a lot of money.....

Do TONS of research, I did my cam swap for under $600. Thats the price range of a hotcam (good cam also). I have maybe $400 in my exhaust.

Re: i need 500 rwhp......

Bolt ons and a nice shot of spray can do that!!!! Good bolt ons and a good tune with a 150 shot are capable of mid 12's all day.
