Re: i need 500 rwhp......
Yu are stock right???
You will need the following to beat h the vette:
-Cold Air intake $100 (used from for sale section)
-LT or Mid headers $600
-Cat back $300 (or just cut out $40)
-Some sticky tires like Nitto DR $350
-100HP shot of N20 $400
You will smoke the vette...
As for the Cobra, I doubt that he is stock. Most '03 Cobras aren’t stock, and they can be modified VERY easily. If he has catless h-pipe, + pulley + tuning he is pushing way over 450RWHP, so you will have to get 150 shoot of n20 to keep up with him...

I can out handle c5 vette with my Trans Am (coil overs, strano revalved shocks, 35mm sway bar, full bmr chassis/suspension). I don’t know how much better c6 is but I don’t think that it is than much f an improve over c5...
Our cars can be modded to handle!!!

There isn't much better then beating the snot out of Vette's in a staight line. Unless I turned my Z-28 into a carver, I wouldn't last long in the twisty's without getting intimate with a telephone pole.

Re: i need 500 rwhp......
A couple bolt ons and an ATI P600b put me at 456 at the wheels. I wouldn't say it is too reliable though. Although the pistons are still with me, I recently spun the balancer on the crank. Many blower cars have had that problem though.

Re: i need 500 rwhp......
theres a dude on these forums that has a sig that says "fast, cheap, reliable... pick two"
describes these cars quite nicely, or any really!
for an easy cheap 500rwhp assuming starting off with a bone stock car i'd go:
pacesetter LTs with their Y-pipe, cutout then stock catback. - shouldnt be more than $350 here.
383 with good internals - $2000 at least with machining.
LE3 heads/cam package starting with LT4 heads and intake. have lloyd port the intake too. - try and find cheap used LT4 heads, LE3 package is like $1850 if I recall and the intake porting is $125 i believe. tell lloyd you plan on running nitrous.
double roller timing chain like cloyes and electric water pump - $300 total for the two maybe? LT4 extreme duty timing chains are already deep into the $200 range while the e-pump will free up some hp.
all the extra crap like comp r lifters, 1.6 roller rockers, guideplates if NSA RRs, 7/16 studs, good pushrods will easily push $600
if auto get a good high stall torque converter. if manual a good clutch. my torque converter was $460 from texas speed.
then to top all that off, because I don't think that all would hit 500 rwhp.. a 100 shot of nitrous. I don't know what nitrous systems cost.
it wont be cheap. It won't really be that reliable. if you want better driveability go with an LE2 setup and a 150 shot of nitrous. set money aside to fix your tranny and rear. they will break. my tranny just went through its 2nd rebuild at 130,000 and I havent even had my LE3 383 on the road yet! my LSD unit in my rear is already shot so my rear is probably on its way out as well. $$$ and more $$$.
of course all the suspension stuff but I am retarded when it comes to suspension so I wont even suggest anything.
THATS what I would do. looking over it thats actually close to what I did.
