Imagine that...what a concept.
Once dialed in, it will run like a striped-*** ape. You'll find that you don't have to sound like a funny car to actually be quick.

JoeliusZ28: The car sounds good. It should be a great street car. I am sure it will sound very cool pulling through some of the gears. I am going to the Woodward Ave. Dream cruse in a couple of weeks. If you need some help with your EFI tune, I would be glad to take a look at it.

So far it seems to be surprisingly happy even on the stock tune. sounds stock at 2k RPM and even at that low of an RPM i can just tell there is a lot more air moving through the engine when i put my foot down. When the engine comes back down to idle is the only problem im having - but my spark timing and fuel mapping are way off.

Any reason why you went with the 226/234 instead of the 230/238? Only reason I ask is 'cause AI's website says the 226/234 is their largest offering for A4 cars and 230/238 is the largest for M6 cars. (stock longblock)

to be more specific, i said i wanted as much overall power as possible (low-end included) and the top end gains wouldve been less than the low end loss [difference].

we never pulled it and i stuck a straight edge over the valves and they where even. but when we fired it up i didnt have one cylinder so we pulled it and found both #8 valves where ever so slightly bent out of the seat. my dad and i pulled it and had the motor stripped right down again in under 2 hours! id bet my dad and i could do a heads/cam swap in 3 hours!

haha nice. I definitely could do mine a heck of a lot faster the second time around now that i am familiar with it.
for what its worth i needed half of a valve job on mine too. My intake guides were pretty worn, def had some slop. Exhaust was fine though so i left them alone.

sounds great man.. i've been real busy with work and am finally just finishing the valvetrain now. Waiting on the intake from AI and then it will be all together. Cam sounds great can't wait until mine is finished. Then we can compare.
