Overcamming is one of the oldest, most common and most enduring mistakes in hotrodding. While he could have gone a little bigger that does not mean he should have.

That cam sounds and the specs look suspiciously like what Im running in my 383 that I was ridiculed for when I first installed it...Those same folks cant get close enough to my tail lights now to even see what color my car is/was....Hahaha...Overcammed stuff may sound good, but thats it...Good luck with everything...

We just finished instaling a full Ai topend with this can in my friends firehawk last night. Should be tuned and dynoed soon. He is very happy. The car pulls very hard. I can't wait to see what it's like after tuning.

Honestly i dont remember, i checked 2 or 3 and put them in as they were. They are TR55s. That is something I am going to check when i get my new plug wires - my taylors are arcing BAD - very disappointed with them.

I understand that...and I wasn't questioning his cam choice, just wondered why he went with the smaller cam. Just by reading AI's website (and being ignorant) it seems like a stock longblock M6 car would want the larger cam...you'll never learn if you don't ask (and I've learned a lot over the years...just never had an F-body that I went any deeper than gears/exhaust).

yea i think its a combination of crappy wires and the hotter plugs. These plugs were OK with my stock wires, the problems began when i put the taylors on before my cam swap. It seemed like an opti issue originally but now i can tell it is individual cylinders missing. I gotta get it squared away though so i can get my tune taken care of.

All the arcing and ignition BS aside. Dayum. this thing runs like a "striped-*** ape" already. Took it for a cruise tonight and got on it a couple times. The first run I grabbed second gear good and COMPLETELY blew the tires off. (275s) Just fishtailing all over the place. I cant wait to see what it does when i get it dialed in

Well the electric water pump is done so im making progress. I am putting on new MSD wires tonight (which unfortunately the opti boots dont fit so I am reusing the taylor crimps )

Ill get some video up soon. Probably some with the stock tune and then after i dial it in. So far I am very satisfied with this build and I almost wish Idve milled the heads more because it hasnt been knocking at all with 11.5:1 compression on the stock tune.

If the boots aren't fitting use your finger to stretch them a bit. They do fit, but are tight to keep liquid out.

to clarify, its not the boots that arent fitting. Apprently the kit I bought wasnt the right one, the opti-ends just arent opti ends. they are too big in diameter to clip into the opti.

Ive already cut the wires so i cant send em back, therefore im just cutting the ends off and making my own. (exactly what i wanted to avoid).
