A.I.R. check valves on exhaust manifolds...

Do I need them anymore?
Installing Pacesetter mid length headers and cannot remove check valves from old manifolds.
Dealer want $87 EACH.
It's a 94 and I don't need to go through emissions any more and the catcon is going away.
So. Can I just eliminate the check valves and air pump?

If emissions isn't a concern go ahead and delete the system. You'll have to cut out the crossover tube in order to remove it.

Heat the manifold and metal secondary pipe with a torch; usually loosens it enough where you can get it off. They also show up on ebay pretty often if you look at LT1 if you want to keep the emissions, no cat does smell quite a bit more.
