I want to lower my car for free.. whos done it?
Like the subject says. I am tired of spending money on my car but the damn thing is just too high so what is the best way to go about lowering it about an inch?
anybody able to get the front coil out w/o taking the car to a shop? I have done everything on this car myself or with friends help so id like to keep that going.

not sure what you mean, no need to take it to a shop to remove the springs, its cake.
however, if you are talking about cutting your stock springs.. I would reccomend against it. you should be able to find used lowering springs for around $100

why do you guys think its a bad idea to whack of an inch of the spring? im not sure what that translates to as far as coils go but it cant be more than 1 coil can it.

I read somewhere in a performance book for f/bodies you can cut a 1/4-1/2 coil off. It's a little more involved that just cutting 1/2 coil off.I remember it saying you have to heat up the end of coil and bend it to make sure it's straight.I've seen gmhightechperformance cut a 1/4 off there formula front spring to give the car the rake look and it affected nothing.just .01 worht.
