I like the BFG G-Force T/A KDW tire. 275/40/17 or 285/40/17.
Really good grip and lateral traction.

Ya, first number is the section width in millimeters and the second number is the percentage of the first number for the sidewall height of the tire.

You can put 315/35/17 tires on your wheels, but it will bulge out a lot and will feel really loose.
If you want really wide tires, you need to get a wider rim to fit the wider tires on.

They feel loose since the sidewall bulges out so much.

those rims are 17x9. they should have come with 275/45 tires. i wouldnt go any wider than 285 on that rim. your side walls will flex too much making it grip less going around corners. trey

if you want it to look like you have wide tires on your car you will need to go with wide rims. the 285s will only be a little wider 10mm actually. my car looks the same. i take my tires off and they are steam rollers. i put them on the car and they dont look that wide at all. only way to make them look wide is to have wide rims. id just get whatever 275 or 285 tires you choose and be done with it. or go buy some wider rims and go that way. Trey

Not trying to jack his thread, but can you guys help me as well? Anyone dealt with 245 50 16 kumho's? I was told they were a really good tire. Will they fit my 97 Z28 fine? Thanks.

I use this tire also. It's has great traction on dry and wet conditions. Very good tire for the money!
